Show products

Find the products your business may sell and show them in your app. You only ever see products available to your business in your key's environment.

1. Learn the product typeslink

Products are filed under a platform taxonomy: classes, then categories, then product types such as MOTOR_COMPREHENSIVE. Read it once and cache it:

curl https://insure-api.netapps.ng/api/v1/taxonomy \
  -H "x-api-key: $INSURETECH_API_KEY"

2. List productslink

Filter by the product type your app sells:

curl "https://insure-api.netapps.ng/api/v1/products?productType=MOTOR_COMPREHENSIVE&limit=20" \
  -H "x-api-key: $INSURETECH_API_KEY"
  • Page with cursor: send back the nextCursor you received, unchanged, until it is null. A short page is not the end of the list.
  • q searches across the catalogue and returns one page of best matches.
  • country, currency and channel narrow the list to products sold where and how you sell.

Keep the providerId and productId of the product your customer picks.

3. Read one productlink

curl https://insure-api.netapps.ng/api/v1/products/66f1c2a9e4b0d3a1c8e7f512/prod_motor_comprehensive_v3 \
  -H "x-api-key: $INSURETECH_API_KEY"

Show coverage, benefits, exclusions and eligibility so your customer knows what they buy. config lists the choices the product offers, such as variants and add-ons. You send the chosen ones as configuration when you quote.

4. Compare products (optional)link

To let your customer compare like with like, line up every product of one product type on the same rows:

curl -X POST https://insure-api.netapps.ng/api/v1/compare \
  -H "x-api-key: $INSURETECH_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "productType": "MOTOR_COMPREHENSIVE", "sort": "PREMIUM_ASC", "limit": 20 }'

Nothing is ranked or re-priced: you see each insurer's own terms and published price. Set quotes: true, with inputs and an Idempotency-Key, to also get a live indicative price from each insurer. Comparison has the details.

5. Know what you earn (optional)link

GET /commercial-rates shows your business's share of each product's price. Use it for your own reporting. It never shows the platform's share.
